Owl Summer 2024

Welcome back, we hope you have had a lovely break with your wonderful families and that you are all ready for this very exciting summer term. We are happy to see everyone back and have enjoyed hearing all of their half term adventures! The children have returned engaged and ready to learn, sharing our excitement for the upcoming weeks. We have already got stuck into our new topics and can’t wait to hopefully spend lots of time in the sunshine. .

Just before the Spring term ended in English we started looking at The Lucky Dip, which is a short film. The children have been really engaged with this unit of learning and we look forward to reading their final writes. Our new text is a beautiful book called The Big of Blooms, the illustrations are amazing and the children are getting to learn lots of facts about a whole range of flowers/plants.

In Maths we have just finished length and perimeter, and we are now moving onto fractions. The children are already having lots of in our lessons. They have been getting stuck in and working really hard in their maths lessons.

During guided reading we have recently moved onto a new scheme called Bug Club, each week we have a different book focus. The children have their own workbook with daily work to be completed picking apart different parts of the stories.

We have now finished volcanoes in Geography, our focus this term is still Geography and we are looking at Europe! The children will have lots of fun exploring different parts of Europe in our upcoming lessons such as the Graian region of the Alps, the Amalfi Coast, and Exmoor.

In Science we are currently doing plants and are then moving onto Rocks and Soils. The children have been growing beans and cress in class and have been watching their growth!

In RE we are looking at To The Ends of the World!

Thank you to everyone for your continued support with the children’s learning.
